In welcoming the fifth Climate Finance Week Ireland, event Chair and Director of the UNDP-FC4S, Stephen Nolan says, “I want to thank all our partners across Irish-located finance community for their continued support for Climate Finance Week, at what is a critical time for the sustainable finance agenda.

The geopolitical climate grows increasingly turbulent, but the necessity for action on climate change remains.

I am glad to see Climate Finance Week Ireland play its role in helping to facilitate an essential dialogue in how we rise to meet these challenges.”

Climate Finance Week Ireland Chief Sponsor, AIB’s CEO Colin Hunt says, “The breadth of activity and speaker-line up for 2022 Climate Finance Week reflect that climate change is the most pressing challenge of our generation.

AIB is once again delighted to partner in this important series of events where we will continue to contribute to the discussions throughout the week.

We are particularly looking forward to opening Climate Finance Week with the 6th AIB Sustainability Conference which will start the week with inspiring speakers from Ireland and beyond.”

Sustainable Finance Ireland:

Sustainable Finance Ireland works to position Ireland as a leader in sustainable finance. All activities are aligned with government’s Ireland for Finance strategy and help to deliver on annual action plans. Sustainable Finance Ireland is responsible for delivering the national Sustainable Finance Roadmap launched at Climate Finance Week Ireland 2021.

Irish Sustainable Finance Roadmap

The national Sustainable Finance Roadmap has been developed by Sustainable Finance Ireland and UN-convened FC4S, in collaboration with public and private stakeholders across Ireland including the Department of Finance, Skillnet Ireland and internationally in order to support the development of sustainable finance talent in Ireland.

Launched during Climate Finance Week 2021 by Minister for Finance Paschal Donohue, the roadmap is a priority Action Measure under the Ireland for Finance Action Plan 2021, demonstrating sustainable finance’s increasing prominence as a priority for Ireland and an essential tool in addressing the climate crisis.
